Tagged! Seven Random Things About Me

And all of my friends from high school are now saying, "Just seven?!?!" Yeah..."random" was kind of my thing back in the day. So, this shouldn't be too hard. You can thank Laura for all that you're about to learn.

Here are the rules:
1. List 7 random things about yourself that people may not know.
2. Link the person who sent this to you, and leave a comment on their blog so that their readers can visit yours.
3. Post the rules on your blog.
4. Tag 7 random people at the end of your post, linking their blog. Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

1.) I chew on my tongue. I only do it when I'm really concentrating on something mindless like drying my hair. Apparently it resembles a cow chewing on its cud. Or so I've lovingly been told by my sister and mom. Also, most of the time I don't realize I'm doing it which can make for some potentially embarassing moments.

2.) I wasn't a very good driver in high school. Stu Hipp, Christy, Amanda, Camille and I carpooled to Career Center for our AP classes. The first time that I got to drive and we all loaded up in the car, I looked in the rearview mirror to find all of them wearing helmets of some kind. Verrrrrry funny.

3.) Most of my cars have been named after characters in "The Wizard of Oz." My first car was a maroon Nissan Sentra with manual everything. When you slammed the doors, it echoed like when the Tin Man banged on his chest. Soooo, it was the Tin Man. Next, I had a tan Honda Accord that was really dumb and did random stuff like hold water in the sunroof and then create a mini waterfall the next time I went down even the smallest of inclines. But it was faithful (the thing is still going with over 300,000 miles to its name), and it did protect me once in a moment of extreme danger. Hence, the Scarecrow.

4.) I love Post Its. Any color, any kind, any shape. I can find a million uses for them. Just having them on my desk or in my kitchen makes me feel like a better woman.

5.) I am freakishly good at crossword puzzles. I think I got that gene from my Dad's mom, my Grandma. One of my strongest memories of her will be of her humming along to some easy listening station while doing a crossword. I like to race people. And I usually win.

6.) I met Dolly Parton while wearing a poodle skirt. It was my 10th birthday and I wanted a 50's style party. My dad returned from a business trip just before the party and my best friend, Eleanor, and I went with Mom and Allie to pick him up from the airport. This was back in the day when you could actually meet folks at the gate. So we're waiting and Dolly freakin' Parton walks off. She comes right up to me and Eleanor and says, with that signature Dolly squeal, "Look at y'aaaaaaallll! Aren't you just so cute in your poodle skirts!" Then she hopped on the courtesy cart and drove away. We didn't even have time for an autograph, so sad.

7.) I have an entire dresser drawer filled with stationery. It's true. Notecards, full sheets, personalized (maiden and married name), postcards... a whole stinkin' drawer. And I could very easily go out tomorrow and buy more if something struck my fancy. Hello, my name is Leslie and I am addicted to fabulous paper goods.

Bring on the randomness...

Okay, I accept the tag. . . very fun! Although, it might have to wait until this weekend, as I'm burdened with a head cold that makes me feel like at any moment my head will literally explode. Love ya and will call back soon!

  6. Thanks for tagging me. It took me a few days to think of sufficiently random things to share.
