At this moment…

I am trying with all the willpower that is in me to resist the leftover thumbprint cookies in the kitchen. You know, the ones that Jason made. From scratch. Uh huh.

I am enjoying the delicious soreness of my legs that ran fast and hard today.

I am wondering why in the world Jake is even remotely into Vienna. Seriously. WHY?

I am reading this over and over and over again. Ah, the joys of marriage and all its quirks.

I am watching this and it makes me weep with laughter as much as the first time I saw it about an hour ago.

I am in awe that three weeks from today I will log a twenty-five mile running week.

I am wondering if running another race with my sister {full marathon for her, half for me} will be just as much fun as the first one.

I am missing all the kiddos that call me Lulu and wishing I could see their sweet and snotty faces.

I am thinking about how glorious it is to have a three and a half day week. Winter Break? Yes, please!

I am wondering why going private on this blog hasn’t made me more inspired or more motivated to blog.

I am wishing that Bejewled Blitz on Facebook wasn’t so dang addictive.

I am thinking that just one cookie won’t hurt.

I dare you not to cry.

Taylor’s story is not my story, not exactly. But I do love what this song conveys about the relationship between a mother and a daughter. I love you, Marmee….

A Proud Legacy

One hundred years of Carolina basketball. And I’ll always remember my little piece of it, 1996-2000. Dean Smith’s last season of coaching, his becoming the winningest coach in NCAA history {at the time}, screaming my lungs out in the top section of the Dean Dome as we beat Duke, celebrating on the balcony of Hinton-James, traveling to Franklin Street for the raucous celebration there…and that was just while I was in college. That doesn’t include traveling to Franklin Street as an alumni to watch “the kids” celebrate their win over Duke {and staying on the sidewalks this time around} or watching the game on Franklin Street as we took the 2005 national championship title.

Oh, Tarheels. How I love ya.

{Edited to add this adorable video featuring pretty my favorite Tarheel ever…}

Oddly enough, 26 miles looks amazingly doable right about now.

I am not sure I could be more tired than I am right now. Oh, wait. Yes I could. Check back with me on Wednesday after the first day of school!

Seriously, the last time I remember being this tired was after completing my one and only marathon. Only this time, instead of a Tiffany’s necklace as my finishing medal, I have a finished classroom! Wanna see?

{By the way, I promise I’m not going to do videos every post for the next nine months. But it is just so dang convenient right now when I can barely keep my eyes open, the resentment from my under exercised dog is palpable and I’ve basically had to go back and respell every word in this post thus far. The video? IT IS MY FRIEND.}

Praise be, tomorrow is a very laidback day for us teachers. I plan on getting some errands completed, beefing up on the math curriculum and putting final touches on things around the classroom.

And yes, I will exercise both the dog and myself. Because seriously? The glares that dog is shooting me rival a disgruntled teenager’s.
