Ladies and gentleman, readers near and far, Jason and I are now residents of the Volunteer State!! After one twenty-four foot truck, a car trailer, two cars packed to the gills...
A back seat fully prepped (but never used until the last 80 miles), two dog tranquilizers, one freckle-faced passenger...
and one fabulous host family for a restful night in Little Rock, Arkansas (thank you Dillards!)......we are now enjoying this glorious Tennessee fall goodness...
Yes, it's quite foggy up here on the mountain today. Oh, and by the way? When your address is Signal Mountain, you shouldn't be surprised that you live ON A MOUNTAIN. And yet, somehow it caught me off guard as we wound our way up to our new home.
The house is very cute although it will need some work before all is said and done. Time for me to start combing through all those issues of Domino that I've saved for creative (and cheap) decorating ideas. I'll post some pics when it's not so chaotic. Right now, we're just recovering from the trip and trying to settle in.
Of course, I did make The Most Important Call today and you will be relieved to know that cable and internet will be installed at The Mountain House on Monday afternoon. I started having serious withdrawals today and my sweet husband (who has worked far harder on this move than I have ever deserved) sent me off in search of free internet. He knows how to speak my love language.
So, from The Country House to The Mountain House, from Texas to Tennessee, we're home....
(P.S. Read the post below for a recap of the entire drive...)
