Unexpected

Jason called me at work today and asked if the Cancer Center had boxes lying around. You know, did we get deliveries and keep the boxes? "Yes," I replied, "Why?" His answer was not news I was expecting to get today. We need the boxes because...

Our house is sold!!!!

As in contract signed, we have to be out by November 15th, SOLD.

I wasn't much good to anyone for the rest of the workday. When I broke the news to Mrs. Whirly she said (with a smile on her face), "Well, that just won't work! You just tell Jason that you'll see him on the weekends because we're not going to let you go!" It is kind of nice to know that she'll miss me...

The best word to describe this news is bittersweet. Bitter because we will be leaving some precious things and relationships. Bitter because it's Jason who will be further away from his family now. Sweet because it is something about which we have prayed long and hard. Sweet because we know that this is a big step towards healing and towards planting some deep, deep roots.

So there you have it. Now we have less than four weeks to find a place to live, find Jason a job, and pack up our house.

Good thing my hubs likes to make lists.

  8. Thanks for all the congratulations!

Christy, VA sounds tempting but I think we're going to stick to TN for now :)

Robin, Oh girl, how I need you here! Thankfully, my hubs LOVES to pack. He views it as a giant game of Tetris so I think we'll be ok.
